| Who we are |
We are a nonprofit group of volunteers dedicated to providing food
security for our friends and neighbors in and around Lamoille
County. We have a pantry located at 197 Harrel Street in
Morrisville, next door to Community Action and the Community College
of Vermont. Here families can come and receive basic food and
other grocery items to help stretch their food dollar. We supply our
pantry through donations of food and cash. We use our funds to
purchase food through the Vermont Foodbank and at various retail
outlets where we can get the best price. We purchase milk and eggs
from a local dairy. Fresh vegetables are supplied to us through
Salvation Farms, a non-profit group that collects directly from the
farmers and distributes to groups such as ours. Our fund raising is
done mainly through newsletters, word of mouth, various religious
organizations throughout the area, and other special events. We are
now selling
Maple Syrup and Tote Bags with our logo. Our pantry is staffed by one paid employee (Deb Krempecke, our manager) and a host of
energetic volunteers. |
