Events

Lamoille Community Food Share board members and volunteers participate in various events throughout the year. Area organizations and businesses also organize events for our benefit. These events help us to raise funds and awareness. We are very grateful for the support!

The kind folks at St John's in the Mountains Episcopal Church in Stowe held their Simple Soup Suppers every Wednesday during Lent. They hosted a wonderful meal of soups, breads, desserts and great company. Over thrity parishioners participated doing everything from cooking to serving to cleanup. JCOGS provided all of the soups for one of the dinners, Harvest Market provided the bread and Cold Hollow Cider Mill provided cider. All proceeds were donated to LCFS. Caroline Ballard was happy to receive a check from Susu brown for over $2600!

Stowe Middle School is hosting and Empty Bowls event on May 4. For $5.00 you can enjoy some delicious soup or for $15 you can have soup and take home a bowl made by a middle school student! Soup will be served from 5:30-6:30 PM at the Stowe Middle/High School gymnasium. At 6:30, stick around for the Middle school performance of Willy Wonka Jr. All proceeds to benefit LCFS!

The Green Mountain Disc Golf Club chose LCFS and the Waterbury Area Food Shelf to share in the proceeds of their winter fundraiser Ice Bowl 2017. This year's event was held on Saturday February 4, at the Center Chains Disc Golf course in Waterbury Center. Contestants pay to play as well as drumming up sponsors. Donations are still coming in but they have raised over $14,000! Thanks to the organizers, sponsors and above all the players!

The Stowe Mountain Bike Club and MBTVT held their Sixth Annual Leaf Blower Classic on Sunday October 9. They asked all those who attend to bring donations for LCFS. What a great way to help your neighbors while enjoying the great outdoors! Evan dropped off the proceeds at the pantry.

Hyde Park Home Days was held on Saturday September 17.   Board members Pam Hammel, Caroline Ballard and Karen Loh were there. Thanks to Caplan's, The Charlmont, Hello Gorgeous and Hammel's Repair Services for providing prizes. Thanks to the Community Circle of Hyde Park for hosting a lovely event!

Our friends at the Community College of Vermont held a Halloween event on Friday October 28. A great time was had by all and LCFS got lots of donations!

Rocktoberfest 2016 was held in Morrisville on Saturday October 1. LCFS was there with a pumpkin ring toss and a huge raffle. Thanks to everyone who stoppped by!

The Farmhouse Tap and Grill is donated $1 from every special burger sold in January to the GMDGC! What a great way to raise money for the Ice Bowl!

Ice Bowl XI

Morrisville Snow Riders and Packers held their third annual Fat Bike Race on February 5. Participants brought food and cash donations. Thomas from Haskins Associates Concrete and Hank from Chuck's Bikes are shown here delivering a load of food and $1732! Huge thanks to all who participated!
